Studio 27

Glenn England - Ceramic Artist

Glenn is largely a vessel maker. Her current series of work is based around seed pods. She considers these to be the ultimate vessel and is working with form and the lines and patterns of nature to create a series of pod forms. Over time these forms have become more stylized with decoration and form, referencing different types of pods.

Glenn works largely on a pottery wheel throwing a variety of functional and decorative ceramic forms. She has 3 wheels in the studio and a gas kiln, glazes and glaze materials in a separate adjacent area. There is also a display area with finished work in the studio. She usually has a variety of works in progress on her shelves.

From the Artist

I have been working in clay for over 40 years and strive for a quality, user friendly product. I endeavour to work as sustainably as possible, recycling materials and optimizing kiln space to conserve gas. Although retired I am still active in the ceramic community and conduct workshops for various studio groups. I also do some mentoring for emerging potters.
