Trish Campbell - Painting and Mixed Media

Strong structural shapes and a sense of story open to interpretation come together in Trish’s conceptual landscape paintings. Awareness of our traditional lands informs her work as she explores the marks of intrusion and imposition on ancient lands. She uses found patterns, lines, shapes and textures from abstracted surfaces in natural and manmade environments.

You will find Trish’s home studio nestled in a hidden valley in the heart of Sassafras with views of the forest. The artist’s studio exhibits her abstract landscape paintings demonstrating mixed media techniques. Trish will also display creations of monotype portrait prints taken from her photography and captivating textured prints of cross-sections of fallen trees.

From the Artist

The awareness of traditional indigenous landscape informs my work. I acknowledge what has gone before and explore the ideas of new surfaces and impositions on ancient land. My work assembles found patterns into reimagined landscapes that are abstracted and open to interpretation. A common theme throughout my work is manmade intrusion on nature and interpretations and abstraction of found surfaces.
